SOUTH NORFOLK MP Richard Bacon joined pupils and staff at Diss Infants School to present the school with the Artsmark Silver award. Artsmark is a national award that recognises and rewards schools making an outstanding commitment to all art forms including music, drama and dance as well as art and design. “The award is a great tribute to the leadership of the school's headteacher, Mrs Barbara Key, together with a marvellous team of teachers, classroom assistants and helpers, including many parents and governors”. “Diss Infants has taken part in an enormously wide range of arts activities, from dance, puppet plays and music lessons to clay modelling and video imaging. There have been visits to the school from professional musicians and from authors, as well as a number of school trips with an arts theme, including to Norwich Castle”. “This is how an infant school should be, and I am so pleased for everyone involved that the school has received this award. Many congratulations”.
