LOCAL MP Richard Bacon is encouraging South Norfolk residents to support their local shops in the run up to Christmas and beyond.

Mr Bacon said: “Small independent shops are really feeling the pinch in the current economic downturn. If everyone chooses to shop locally it really will make a difference.

“Harleston and Diss have a wide variety of excellent shops offering a huge array of everyday items as well as gifts for family and friends. Both market towns have a lot going for them and it is important to see them thriving”.

Mr Bacon visited Harleston Post Office to buy his Christmas Card stamps from postmaster Howard Farmer.
