South Norfolk MP Richard Bacon spent the morning at the Youth Expo held in the Corn Hall, Diss on Saturday 23 February. The exhibition was held in response to the complaint by many young people that there is nothing for them to do in Diss. Organised by members of Diss Youth Projects Initiative and supported by the town council, more than twenty organisations based in and around Diss took part in the event. |

Mr Bacon said: “The exhibition just shows what a wide range of activities there is locally to suit everyone and young people now have no excuse that there is nothing for them to do in Diss. “I was very impressed with the number of adults who give up their free time to run these excellent clubs and I congratulate Diss Youth Projects Initiative for putting on such a successful event”. Details of all the participants are being collated into a booklet which will be distributed to local schools and houses in Diss over the next couple of months. The associations who took part in Youth Expo will be offered the chance to participate in a further exhibition to be held in conjunction with the Diss Carnival in June and it is also hoped to make Youth Expo an annual event. If you want to know more about local clubs now or want to add your club’s details to the list , you can contact the Diss Youth Projects Initiative through Diss Town Council, Market Hill, Diss, telephone: 01379 643848. 25 February 2008
