The proposals for a windfarm at Hempnall were unanimously rejected

South Norfolk MP Richard Bacon has congratulated local activists for their successful campaign against a windfarm in Hempnall. Mr Bacon said: “I am delighted at this decision and I congratulate all the local activists involved in this campaign”. “These plans would have presented all kinds of problems for local residents and I don’t think that industrial-scale wind power belongs in a gentle rural landscape”. |

Mr Bacon was speaking after South Norfolk District Council unanimously rejected the application for a seven-turbine windfarm on Bussey's Loke in Hempnall. Mr Bacon wrote to Hempnall District Councillor Michael Windridge to give his support to campaigners ahead of the decision by South Norfolk District Council's planning committee Mr Bacon wrote to the council's planning officers in May 2008 to register his objections to the scheme.
