South Norfolk MP Richard Bacon has called for a 30mph speed limit outside Morley Primary School after joining members of Morley Action Group to walk from Wymondham College to the Primary School. Mr Bacon said: “Children in Morley face a dangerous walk to school.” |

“Morley’s Community Speed Watch team are working hard to tackle speeding drivers in the village but, because they can only operate within 30mph or 40mph zones, they are currently powerless to act outside the school.” “After walking the route myself with members of the Morley Action Group, it is clear that the speed limit outside the school should be 30mph at most. Norfolk County Council are sympathetic but want to be sure that drivers will comply with any new speed limit outside Morley Primary School.” “However, Morley’s Community Speed Watch team are ready, willing and able to enforce any new speed limit outside the school and I have asked the County to look at this again.” 17 November 2008
