Primary School, as Headteacher Andrew Berry (right) looks on

SOUTH NORFOLK MP Richard Bacon has been quizzed by pupils at Scole Primary School as part of the school's 'You've Got the Power' project. Mr Bacon tackled the questions of both the Year 3-4 class (7-9 year olds) and the Year 5-6 class (9-11 year olds).
'You've Got the Power' is an animated DVD produced by the Houses of
Parliament. The DVD explains the role of Parliament and versions for
both primary and secondary schools are available. |

The DVD comes with a pack containing teachers' notes, lesson plans and worksheets. You can find out more information by clicking here. Part of the project involves finding out about your local MP, and the pupils had used Mr Bacon's website to find out more about their local Member of Parliament. Mr Bacon said today: “I was delighted to be invited to come and talk to the children at Scole Primary School about how Parliament works and what it is like to be an MP. The children had clearly worked very hard to prepare a wide range of questions. I hope I gave them good answers!”. “It is important that young people understand how government works. It is welcoming indeed to see the pupils at Scole Primary School take such a keen interest and I congratulate Mr Berry and his staff for getting their pupils so engaged in the subject”.
