Success: Richard is obtaining a
 lower speed limit outside Shelton
school after listening to local
residents and police

SOUTH Norfolk MP Richard Bacon has succeeded in obtaining a reduction in the speed limit outside Shelton with Hardwick Community School near Long Stratton, following meetings with the local community and the police.

Following pressure from Richard, Norfolk County Council are planning to introduce a lower speed limit outside the school.

Growing concern

Richard has sought a change in the law in light of growing concerns over the number of deaths on South Norfolk's roads.

Father-of-three Andrew Mason from Dickleburgh was killed when his motorcycle was hit by an elderly driver.

Mr Mason's mother, Jennie and his widow, Mairi, asked for  Richard's help.  Richard arranged for Mrs Mason to meet top police road safety experts.

He has now called for a change in the law.
