RSS stands for ‘Really Simple Syndication’. An RSS document is referred to as a ‘feed’.
An RSS feed makes it possible for you to keep up with your favourite website automatically. It does this by providing a web page that can be read by a special piece of software called a ‘reader’. Without a reader, an RSS feed just appears as computer code.
How an RSS news feed appears on-screen
This is a piece of software that checks an RSS feed and lets you know if any new articles have been added. There are many different types of reader. Some readers let you access feeds using your internet browser. Others are programs you can download. Y You can search for free RSS readers on the internet. A wide range of free readers is available, with new types of reader are appearing all the time. Different news readers work on different
